Cliffs of Moher are a must, i stayed in Doolin in hay barn,.....i was a teenager so fair play. I had the best nights sleep in it too.

that was 20 years ago so things may have changed.
Also the ailwee show caves, in The burren...beautiful landscape.
I think from galway you can take another boat to the arran isles as well
ReplyDeleteThe Aran Islands are definatly recommended to visit. Anyhow, here's a long list of things, you can visit, and it's far from complete.

- Cahir, South Tipperary: Cahir Castle is worth to visit.
- Dublin: The Guiness Brewhouse, The Viking Museum at Christchurch, the gardens of Dublin Castle, the coastline around Dun Laoghaire is a beautiful spot for some scenery
- Belfast (well just outside): The Cultra Transport Museum
- on the Causeway Coast Road from Belfast up north:
** Tor Head: Absolutely beautiful spot, but getting there on a bicycle will be torture. It's even hard on cars. It's a small windy road in the mountains along the coast.
** Malin Head, Irelands most northern point
** The Carrick-a-Rede ropebridge in Antrim
** The Giants Causeway
** Bushmills Distillery in Bushmills
- in Donegal
** Fanad Head
** The Mullaghmore Loop
Both stretches have beautiful scenery and should be perfect for a good cycle.
On the westcoast:
- As you get from Sligo out West towards Clifden and then along the coast from there
- The stretch from Kinvara, Co. Galway to the Cliffs of Moher bring you along the coastline in Galway and Clare right through the Burren
- The Cliffs of Moher are a must
- via Tralee to Dingle over the Conor Pass and the Slea Head drive around the peninsula west of Dingle. On the way back along the coast towards Killarney.
- the Killarney National Park, take a stop and find the waterfall in the forest.
- Mizen Head, Irelands most southern point
I hope this gives a few ideas.
Oh, and as you get to Cork, check out the Fota Wildlife Zoo.
ReplyDeleteIt's located on Fota Island near Cobh and it's one of a kind. You'll meet roaming wildlife and this can be anything from giraffes to kangaroos.
Co. Wicklow and South Dublin: Sally and Wicklow Gap should be a must.
